I am sociologist and a postdoctoral researcher at the European University Institute (Italy) at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, where I work for the ERC project TARGETS led by Prof. Valentina Di Stasio. We are currently running a diary study in the Netherlands to understand the process of job search, analysing job-searchers perceptions and strategies.
I am mainly interested in understanding how inequalities in the labour market are produced across different sociodemographic groups, with a particular focus on those concerning gender and ethnicity. I also investigate segregation processes in other life domains, and their interplay with individuals' attitudes and values. I do so from a quantitative perspective, analysing survey data and (more recently) administrative registers too.
My entire background is in Sociology. I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology (2015) at the University of Alicante (Spain), and a Master's degree in Research in Sociology and Demography (2019) at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). Later, I moved to Switzerland, where I spent some of the happiest years of my life at the University of Lausanne, where I earned a PhD in Social Sciences in September of 2023. After my PhD defence, I worked for one year as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Konstanz, where I also had the pleasure to teach two Bachelor seminars. In October of 2024 I moved to the European University Institute (Florence), where I will be working as a (postdoctoral) Research Fellow until October of 2026.
Feel free to contact me in English or Spanish for inquiries about my research, my teaching, thoughts about collaborations, being vegan at conferences, sharing pictures of your dog(s), or else.
